About Us

Our Identity

We are simply a group of Christians and a community of believers who participate together in the work of Christ (Acts 11:26). As a local church we are independent and autonomous and offer our allegiance to Christ alone (Acts 4:12). It is our conviction that we must have Biblical authority for all we do and teach in service to God (Colossians 3:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our focus as a congregation is to provide the edification, instruction, teaching, and support to lead fellow-believers to maturity in Christ and the transformation of the gospel (Colossians 1:28-29; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18).

Our Plea

The religious world of our day is one of confusion, even though the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is not pleased with religious division (1 Corinthians 1:10John 17:20,21). We believe that the unity of Christians is God’s will.

In view of today’s religious division, many people are asking:“Can the unity of the early Christians be obtained in the 21st century?”

We at Highway 65 firmly believe the answer is “YES!” If we will commit ourselves to follow only the New Testament we can know the truth and be united in the gospel of Christ (Ephesians 3:3-5; 5:17).

When Jesus came to this world, He declared that He would build His church (Matthew 16:18). Jesus’ plan for His church, as described in the NT, provided the basis for unity. When the apostles delivered Jesus’ plan for His church, the apostle Paul commanded Christians to maintain the “unity of the Spirit” by recognizing, among other things, that there is one body, one faith, and one baptism (Ephesians 4:4,51:22-23).

What To Expect When You Visit

Our goal is to worship God in spirit and truth, according to the teaching of the New Testament. We hope you will worship along with us with an open mind and a humble spirit. You will be welcomed among us as we praise Jesus as Lord and King. Our worship will be offered in zeal, sincerity, simplicity, and truth (John 4:22-24). Our deep longing is to exalt Jesus as our Savior (Philippians 2:9-11).

Worship

On Sundays we sing, pray, take the Lord’s Supper, contribute funds to provide for the work of the Lord (we never solicit visitors), and listen to the preaching of God’s Word. These are the same actions the New Testament churches engaged in on the Lord’s Day. Our hope is to glorify God in the way he has revealed in His Word and in a manner that will draw us all nearer to His presence.

Balanced, Interactive Teaching

On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings we have Bible classes for all ages.

We are committed to providing Christ centered and Biblically focused instruction that will practically impact the lives of families devoted to Christ. We believe that scriptural teaching produces the strongest marriages, homes and relationships.

When you visit no one will embarrass you in any way. We assemble for the express purpose of worshipping and glorifying God, as well as edifying and building one another up in the body of Christ (Eph. 4:12-16). If you are interested in growing closer to the Lord and striving to orient your life toward the purpose of Christ we believe that you will be very interested in joining us in service to God.
